Painting and Image Processing

For the last three years the Department has standardized on Adobe Photoshop as the primary application for painting and image processing. This professional tool is nonetheless easy to use, and it's deep functionality gives students and faculty almost unlimited power within the realm of computer-based painting and image manipulations.

We use Photoshop as a first stage tool for tuning scanned images, actually doing most image scanning from within Photoshop using plug-in modules. We also use it for digital photographics work, and for post-processing and manual enhancement of computer generated renderings.
