Project Eight -- Detailed Model

Objectives

Develop your three-dimensional project model from a basic spatial model to a more literal and complete building model.

To understand the spatial structure and inside/outside relationships of your project building.

Procedure

To develop your project while keeping your basic spatial model intact, copy the model file and archive a reference copy of the spatial model.

Then use DesignWorkshop, as appropriate to develop a reasonably detailed, complete, and accurate model of the project building. As you work on the building model, be sure to keep careful backups and and progressive versions of the model for reference and for data security. (Absolutely no credit will be granted for missing data.)

Before you start on the Detailed Model, read through the description for the Final Project, so that all along the development process you can be thinking about the views you'll want to use when you're done with the modeling phase.

To Hand In

Electronically hand in a copy of the substantially complete detailed model no later than noon on Thursday, 5 December, to the ftp area on the DIL web server. You'll receive 15 points for handing in a substantially complete model by this deadline. Substantially complete models handed in up to 24 hours later will receive 10 points, and no other credit will be granted. Name your model file

A222.f96.8-YourFamilyName

Compress the file with Drop Stuff, making sure that it ends with the ".sit" extension (following the same pattern and method as for all our previous modeling assignments) and then upload it to the:

Homework Eight Delivery Folder
