Objectives
Develop your three-dimensional project model from an abstract massing study model to a spatial building model with walls, door and window openings, etc..
To understand the spatial structure and inside/outside relationships of your project building.
Procedure
To develop your project while keeping your building massing model intact, copy the model file and archive a reference copy of the massing model.
Then use Wallify, Poly-wall and Poly-line, and all the other tools and functions of DesignWorkshop, as appropriate, to hollow out your massing model , rebuild portions as necessary, and construct additional parts and details to develop a reasonably detailed, complete, and accurate model of the project building.
Also, build a simple representation of the building site, including basic terrain and very simple massing models of neighboring buildings, as appropriate. Make sure that these objects are in the "site" phase of your model by the time you hand it in for this assignment.
As you work on the building model, be sure to keep careful backups and and progressive versions of the model for reference and for data security. (Absolutely no credit will be granted for missing data.)
To Hand In
Electronically hand in a copy of the spatial model by the beginning of class on Tuesday, 21 November. You'll receive 10 points for handing in a substantially complete model by this deadline. Substantially complete models handed in up to 24 hours later will receive 5 points, and no other credit will be granted. Name your model file
