One of our most common questions regards getting dial-in communications setup so one can access email and other services from home. Last year we had a line out the fire doors with people trying to get help and the dialin software and documentation. WHEN: The plan for this year includes Free live workshops and video taped workshops: They repeat each day Thursday, Friday of *this week* Oct 3rd & 4th, then again *next week* Monday, Tuesday the 7th and 8th. Each of these days: 1-2PM Macintosh InterPPP 2-3PM Macintosh MacPPP 3-4PM Windows 3.1 (Trumpet Winsock) 4-5PM Windows 95 (Built-in dialup networking) WHERE: IMC Studio C, first come, first serve (seats 45) Other avenues for support includes video taped workshops for checkout or purchase from the IMC, or checkout from our documents room 205 Computing Center, and of course direct consulting. Please help us point interested parties at these and other free workshops. Obviously, it is much more efficient to service these folks at one time rather than individually. PS: There are many other live and video taped workshops the students faculty and staff can use if they look into it. This message is primarily mentioning dialin workshops because there is normally a huge demand for newcomers to get conected fall term. Thanks for your help, -Dan NOTES: Distribution of Software and Documentation - The Duckware CD is available at many points on campus - We will handout printed dial-in documentation with the CD from room 202A Computing Center. - We will have diskette sets available on a cost recovery basis from room 202A. (We have to charge $$ because the diskettes cost a lot more than the CD's). Those who do not wish to pay for the diskettes, can check them out from the documents room 205 CC, install, then return them to us. They may also copy the diskette images off the network for free onto their own diskettes.
